Despite initial low ratings, the CW’s musical romantic
comedy Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2015-) has managed to flourish.
Created by and starring Rachel Bloom, the series centers around a
young New York attorney who finds herself questioning the
sources of her unhappiness after a happenstance encounter with
an ex-boyfriend from a junior high summer camp experience.
Despite its apparent irrationality, Rebecca Bunch (Rachel Bloom)
finds herself struck by the realization that her life in the big city,
while financially gratifying, is less-than-satisfactory, and she
impulsively decides to pack up her apartment to follow this ex-
boyfriend, Josh Chan (Vincent Rodriguez, III), to the epitome of
American humdrum suburbia: West Covina, California. The show
finds success in a variety of outlets: the musical numbers are clever
