Fulfilling the Legacy of the Good Teacher

When I began thinking about how to write about teachers in
film, nothing immediately jumped out and caught my attention. I
continued to give it some thought and then realized I should write about
something that I already have interests in and exposure to daily. That is
where sports came into the picture. I am a track and field athlete who
spends countless hours a week working on my craft. More specifically,
I spend countless hours a week interacting with my coaches. This is an
interaction familiar to all athletes. For some, the experience may have
been good or bad, but we all have garnered relationships with our high
school sports coaches and, for those of us still competing, now with
our collegiate coaches.
