positive. From feeling comfortable opening up to a mentor to even
providing your own input and teaching them as well in certain
situations, there are clearly positives to the expectation this model sets.
It is also important to note the negatives as well. As mentors
consistently blur the lines between right and wrong on the big screen,
perhaps too low of a bar is set when people evaluate mentor figures in
their lives. This could cause inexcusable behavior to suddenly become
excusable, and could ultimately lead to a toxic relationship. Thus, while
the implications of the “good mentor” model exist in our lives, it is
important to not allow them to dictate our lives.
