Assistant Football Coach Den-
nis Haglan was named Assistant
Athletic Director, replacing Jon
LeCrone; and
Charlie Patterson, former Vice
Chancellor of Development at
UNC-Greensboro (UNCG),
became Wake Forest’s first
Assistant Athletic Director for
Development on May 1. He
supervised all athletic fundrais-
ing, particularly endowments
and large capital gifts.
The Arts
The University Theatre presented Mary
Chase’s play Harvey, Shakespeare’s As
You Like It, A.R. Gurney’s The Din-
ing Room, Paul Osborn’s Mornings at
Seven, a dinner theater (co-sponsored
by the College Union), and Gilbert and
Sullivan’s opera The Mikado.
The men’s basketball team defeats DePaul
in the NCAA Tournament
