The Italian Baroque period was also a great age of illusionistic ceiling painting. One of these is in the church
of Sant’Ignazio, which is dedicated to the great Jesuit teacher, missionary, and saint, Ignatius Loyola. When
you look up at the ceiling it seems to dissolve into a vision of Ignatius being taken into heaven
