I am so grateful for the Bible You gave us, that tells the Love Story of You, our Maker for us,
your people. I pray that my girls will always love Your Word and remember what your Bible
teaches us, that they will stay close to You, live for You, love You with all their hearts, so they
can have the amazing life that You planned ages before each of them was born. I pray they will
have a love for your Commandments, and such a love for You that they remember Your way
brings happiness, that they’ll have no other gods before You. I pray that their hearts will stay
right with You, soft toward You and others, that they will say, as King David prayed centuries
ago, “Search me O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts and see
if there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.” Please let them know
that following You will lead to fulfillment that only comes from knowing their Creator. Never
let them think You don’t care about everything that affects them. Remind them that You are
interested in every detail of their lives and want to hear from them about everything they are
excited or anxious about. Help them to realize every single person in our world is created by
You. Let them know from the core of their beings that You love them so much You died for
them; that if they had been the only person in the world, You would have still made a way,
through Christ’s death, to bring them back to You. Also, please help them to know and agree
with these things I pray for them:
I praise You for being Sovereign, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Thank you for making the
entire, amazing universe in its infinity while also creating a glorious world where humans, made
in Your image, could exist. Thank You for giving us free will, a choice in whether or not we
follow You and trust in You.
And the following thought, so unfathomable and most amazing: we cut ourselves off from
You by going our own way, not acknowledging You at all, doing and saying wrong things; yet,
in your loving-kindness, You put Someone in our place, to take the punishment for our bad
words and actions. You loved us so much that You sent Your only Son, that whoever believes
in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. I thank You Lord, for dying on the cross for us,
rising again, and going to prepare a place for us in eternity.
Finally, on a more specific level: Thank you for the girls’ health, dear Lord. Thank You for
giving them to us. We appreciate your giving us a nice home in a lovely town, a good church
and many wonderful friends and family to help raise our girls. Thank You for bestowing
on them so many gifts and talents, athletic abilities, and for making them very beautiful (of
course their parents thinks that!). Thank You for giving them good friends, sending them to
wonderful schools, letting them travel and also to be content at home. Help them never to
forget Whose they are (yours) and ours, too, and all who love them on earth.
Give them the highest integrity and the biggest hearts and winsome personalities. Please give
them long, full lives, stable, happy marriages, good relations with their cousins, aunts and
uncles, grandparents, each other through the years.
Please have them marry emotionally- healthy Christian men who love You first and them
second! Let them have joy that they spread to others.
Please bring them and any grandchildren and all our descendants to heaven where we’ll be
