As a mom sorely unprepared for the early days we shared together, thank
you for being my teachers, my mentors, my salvation. You saved me from
dogmatism and pride and being a know-it-all. You gently, and at times
firmly, grabbed my hand and pulled me into a place of grace. Grace for
myself, for each of my children, and for those I previously deemed “other.”
Thank you for showing me that my call is not to save, but to walk
alongside and embrace the full range of life together with you, my children.
I hope that you always know that you are deeply and dearly loved.
