Dean Iacovou shares business education expertise at international forum
As the landscape of business and business education continues to evolve, business schools and corporate training programs, including corporate uni-
versities, grapple with change. Examining how academic and corporate universities can share their knowledge and skills to the benefit of business
professionals was the focus of a panel discussion at the 2017 Gaidar Forum, attended by Charles Iacovou, Sisel Distinguished Dean of the School of
Business. Iacovou was part of an expert panel on “The Changing Landscape of Management Education Market and the Role of Business Schools and
Corporate Universities Today and in Ten Years,” held January 12 in Moscow, Russia. He discussed how the School collaborated with leading industry
firms to design the new 10-month Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program. The strategic partnership enabled the School to create a
program specifically designed for the firms’ needs, which reduced the necessity for in-house training programs. The MSBA program will graduate its

Poets & Quants Undergrad Ranking - #14 nationally
We are excited to share that the recently released ranking by Poets & Quants placed our undergraduate business program at #14 nationally. The
School was nationally ranked No. 3 for internships with 98 percent of our undergraduates securing at least one. Wake Forest also comes in at No. 3 in
faculty accessibility, and ranks No. 5 in quality of teaching. When it comes to their student experiences, Wake Forest alumni gave the School high
marks. Their answers to the survey put the School at No. 9 for career advising, preparedness, and alumni accessibility. Would they recommend Wake

Charlotte Saturday MBA program: Largest class enrolled
The Charlotte Saturday MBA program has enrolled its largest class of students in the program’s 20-year history. The incoming class of 54 students
represents 44 leading companies and is 43% female. The program has attracted working professionals from as far away as Fayetteville and Winston-
Salem to earn their graduate degrees.

Team heads to national KPMG competition
A School of Business team is headed to the national KPMG competition, with a chance to move on to the global finals in Lisbon, Portugal. Junior un-
dergraduate accountancy students Winnie Hu, Andrea Zhang, and Rebecca Liao, along with senior Litong Fei took first place in our annual case com-
petition on November 7. The School has won the global competition twice, in 2010 and 2011. Read more.
Ethics and Leadership Debate Team heads to nationals
The Center for Leadership and Character sponsored team placed second in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Ethics Bowl, held on November 14 at Clemson
University. Sophomores Sam O’Connor, Clare Zhang, Alessandro Rizzi, and seniors Matt Schlosser and Paras Patel will travel to Dallas for the national
Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl competition on February 26. Read more.
School’s Business Students of Color group discusses networking and navigating the corporate world
The School’s Business Students of Color (BSOC) organization held a panel discussion about networking and navigating the corporate world on Decem-
ber 1. “We asked the panelists to share their experiences, challenges, and words of wisdom about the workplace,” said Lawrence Watkins (MSA ’17),
who helped organize the event. “We hope the students learn how to make an impact in their industry and help other young professionals entering
the workplace.”

The Marketing Summit is the longest-running student-led case competition at the School of Business. The Summit offers both graduate and under-
graduate students the opportunity to apply their marketing skills and creativity to real-world marketing challenges. Seven graduate and seven under-
graduate teams will compete in Farrell Hall April 7-8, 2017.
