2014 Excellence in Entrepreneurship Awards Banquet
The Ninth Annual Excellence in Entrepreneurship Awards Banquet was held Thursday, April 25 in the Magnolia Room. The event,
sponsored by the Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship Program and the Entrepreneurship Society was attended by 100 stu-
dents, faculty members and special guests. The Banquet honored students and faculty who have contributed to the innovative and
entrepreneurial culture of Wake Forest. The special guest, keynote speaker, and Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award recipient was
Mr. Dickerson Wright, President and CEO of NV5, Inc.
Russell D. and Elfriede Hobbs Award for Entrepreneurial Achievement
In 2007, Russ Hobbs, 1988 Wake Forest graduate and founder of Blue Ocean Software, announced a $1 million endowment gift to
create the Russell D. and Elfriede Hobbs Fund for Entrepreneurship and Liberal Arts, established in honor of his parents. This was the
first major endowment gift for the Wake Forest Office of Entrepreneurship and Liberal Arts. In addition to providing seed grants, in-
ternships, and other support for undergraduate students, the endowment funds a major prize, the Hobbs Award for Entrepreneurial
Achievement for Student and Faculty Entrepreneurs.

and faculty who have exhibited extraordinary achievements in innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship over the

Franky’s Jewelry – Moria Lawlor, ‘15 Moria produces and sells a line of handmade necklaces with forty percent of proceeds going
towards research of Cerebellar Ataxia, a rare brain disease with no known cure.
The Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award for a Commercial Venture
– Scott Coldagelli,MBA; Andy Bowline, MBA and Tripp Evans, MBA --
offers personalized notifications for patients and data
delivery to healthcare professionals, ensuring that medicine is taken on time and as directed.
