practices, and narrative forms of research and writing. Currently, as an independent
scholar in pursuit of a permanent teaching position in academe, Lieb works as a freelance
academic content and copy editor of dissertations, journal articles, and other scholarly
writings.
Jay Poole, Ph.D. is Associate Professor in the Department of Social Work at UNC
Greensboro in the Department of Social Work. Jay's research interests include identity
studies particularly relative to gender and sexual identities as well as people with mental
health issues and older adults.
Patrick Sawyer teaches in the School of Education and the Department of
Communication Studies at UNC-Greensboro. He has a BA in Psychology from UNC-
Chapel Hill, an MA in Communication Studies from UNC-Greensboro, and is currently
pursuing a PhD in Educational Studies with a concentration in Cultural Studies at UNC-
Greensboro. His research interests are focused on high performing teachers and students
in high poverty schools with a view of expanding notions of performance to include
benchmarks related to social justice.
Dave B. Temple, Ph.D is the Director of the Master of Arts in the Teaching Program at
Lenoir-Rhyne University at the Center for Graduate Studies of Asheville. He
enjoys writing on a variety of educational topics.
